Queens for a Cause Family Fun Day is Sunday

CLEARFIELD – The sixth annual Queens for a Cause Family Fun Day will be held this Sunday at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds.

It will include a 5K Run/Walk, a Kids Fun Run as well as other kid’s activities, a Car & Bike Show, craft and retail vendors, food and music by DJ Mad Maxx.

The event will be held rain or shine. Funds raised throughout the day’s events will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network and local causes.

Donations to CMN at Geisinger provide life?saving equipment for their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Local CMN Miracle Child Neveah Brown and her family of Osceola Mills are one of many families to receive care from Geisinger.

To date, Queens for a Cause has donated more than $150,000 to CMN and local charities.

The 5K Run/Walk begins at the fairgrounds and winds through the west side of Clearfield. It is a family-friendly and dog-friendly race that also includes a stroller division.

Awards will be presented to the top three overall male/female finishers as well as the top three finishers in each age group, male and female. The top three finishers with a stroller will also win an award.  

Participants are encouraged to join in the royal spirit and dress in costume as their favorite prince or princess for the race. Tutus, tiaras and pixy wings are welcome.

A $50 Visa gift card will be given to the winner of the best royal appearance. Pre?registration is $20 and will be accepted until Saturday.

Day-of registration is $25 and will be from 7:15 a.m. – 8:15 a.m. with the race beginning at 8:30 a.m. T?shirts will be available on a while supplies last basis.

Post?race refreshments will be provided, and there will also be door prizes given away.

A Kid’s Fun Run will be held following the 5K. The fun run is less than a half-mile and is held inside the park. Registration for the fun run will be the day of the event and is $5.  

Kids are encouraged to dress as their favorite prince or princess as a prize will be given to the best three ‘royal appearance’ costumes. All finishers will receive a medal.  

Registration for the Car & Bike Show will be day of the show from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Awards will be presented at 4 p.m. The registration fee is $10 per entry. The first 75 registrants for the show will receive a collector dash plaque.
