Dale Fox has been recognized by Toastmasters International for Advanced Achievements by earning Bronze Status in both of Toastmasters Communication and Leadership Educational Tracks.

“Dale’s accomplishments should not be understated”, said Cory Straub, long-time Toastmaster officer. “A small number of Toastmasters reach the levels that she has.”

The Toastmasters Educational Program has two aims.

Each “track,” Leadership and Communication, is comprised of “Competent,” “Bronze,” “Silver” and “Gold” levels.

The Communication Track is dedicated to improving speaking and listening skills. Toastmasters complete various speech projects at each education level and obtain feedback from fellow club members.

The Leadership Track focuses on development of leadership skills through a variety of club activities. Among Fox’s leadership accomplishments are serving as current club president and in a variety of officer positions over her six-year tenure.

Fox’s long-term goal is to achieve Toastmasters highest achievement, “Distinguished Toastmaster,” achieved by a select group of highly dedicated individuals.

“A great thing about Toastmasters is flexibility,” said Fox. “Some members work very intently. Others, including myself, complete the requirements as we have time in our busy schedules.

“It gives me a great feeling when I can stand and deliver a program that engages my audience using the techniques we teach. What a difference it has made in my role as an instructor at local universities; my ratings have soared.”

“The most rewarding use of my Toastmasters skills has been working with children at the Ridgway Area School District at the elementary level as a special education para-educator. I put Toastmasters skills to use all day, every day, helping me to engage and excite youngsters to learn about their world and to feel good about themselves,” Fox added.

Elk County Toastmasters meet every first and third Thursday at the Shiloh Presbyterian Church Educational Annex in St. Marys at 7:15 p.m. Visitors are always welcome. More information is available on Facebook and on Elk County Toastmasters Web site.
