Charles E. McBride, 84, of Clearfield died Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.
Mr. McBride was born Sept. 22, 1932 in Olanta, the son of Charles J. and Mary (Kanouff) McBride.
He had worked for McGregor’s, Stokers and Lady Jane Mines in Penfield and Novey Recycling.
He was an avid hunter, especially hunting coons with his dogs. He was also an avid trapper and fisherman.
Mr. McBride is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Turner) McBride, to whom he was married Nov. 22, 1952, and two sons, Leo McBride and his wife, Barb of Hyde and Rodney McBride of Shawville.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Michael McBride (Charissa), Mandy Johnston (Ryan), Josh McBride (Kristin), Lynn McBride (Ashley), Adam McBride (Michele), Kristin McBride and Steven O’Connor; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Norman “Butch” McBride and his wife, Mary of Kerr Addition.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Michael McBride.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield with the Rev. John White officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
