Ida Jean Peacock, 93, of Clearfield died Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at her home.
She was born Nov. 9, 1923 in Lumber City, a daughter of the late Victor G. and Helen W. (Maurey) Gearhart McFadden.
Mrs. Peacock attended the Clearfield Alliance Church. She was also a member of the Curwensville VFW Post 842 Auxiliary.
She worked for 13 years at McGregor’s Sportswear. She loved to cook, bake, can vegetables and crochet. Most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Peacock is survived by two children, Larry W. Peacock and his wife, Lynne of Olanta and Helen J. Lingle and her husband, Marvin of Clearfield.
She is survived by six grandchildren, Chris (Jennifer) Peacock, Matthew (Janette) Peacock, Randy (Kearstin) Peacock, Kimberly (John) Castina, Marvin (Betsy) Lingle Jr., and Chad (Stephanie) Lingle; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald Gearhart of Mahaffey and Neal (Cora) Gearhart of Laurel, Md.; a sister-in-law, Jessie Gearhart of Curwensville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tarlton A. “Sonny” Peacock, to whom she was married Nov. 21, 1945, and who died March 19, 2010; three brothers, Donald, Robert and Glenn Gearhart; a sister, Dorothy Foster; and two grandchildren, Douglas Wayne Peacock and Mark Alan Lingle.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield with Dr. Duane White officiating. Burial will be at Crown Crest Memorial Park.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
