DCC Makes Quick Work Of Lady Tide, 15-0

DUBOIS – The Lady Cardinals of DuBois Central Catholic (DCC) took out some frustration Wednesday afternoon against visiting Curwensville, with a three inning, 15-0 mercy rule ending.

DCC, which saw its unbeaten streak ended by Punxsutawney (19-0), on Tuesday, 5-1, came out against the Lady Tide with total domination, never looking back.

The Lady Cardinals, having defeated Curwensville 12-1 earlier this season, scored six in the first inning, four in the second, and hung a five spot in the bottom of the third that brought on the mercy rule.

Catcher Jordan Frank of DCC had a game kids dream about, with three extra base hits and six RBI’s on the day.

Frank had a double and two home runs, with the first round tripper a first inning two run shot and the second blast a three run homer in the bottom of the third.

Joining Frank with three hits was teammate Macey Hanes, while Riley Assalone and Shay Gulvas chipped in with two each.

Curwensville managed just two hits, both singles, one each by Hannah Dixon and Kayley Harnett.

The Lady Tide finished the regular season with an overall record of 9-11 and now await the pairings for the upcoming District 9 AA playoffs that begin next week.
