Elizabeth H. “Bettie” Husted, 84, of Philipsburg died Sunday, May 14, 2017, at her residence.
She was born May 11, 1933 in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Matthew and Sara (Wood) Horne.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Philipsburg. She was a 1951 graduate of the former Philipsburg High School.
Her working career began with her family’s business, the former Horne’s Paper and Paint Store of Philipsburg.
She was then employed with the former General Cigar plant in (North) Philipsburg. She was most recently employed and retired from the maintenance department at Penn State.
She was married Sept. 30, 1956 in Philipsburg to Thomas R. Husted, and he survives at home.
She is also survived by one son, James T. Husted and his wife, Loretta and one grandson, Charles T. Husted, all of Baker, La.; a niece, Anne and a niece and her husband, Michael; and two nephews, Ed and his wife, Ruth and Matt and his wife, Pat, all of whom were very special to her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jane Fenton and Louise “Wez” McClement.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg, with the Rev. Ted G. Seibert officiating.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Philipsburg Cemetery, Philipsburg.
