CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County Fair Queen Rachel Duke and her court will host the sixth annual Queen’s For a Cause Royal 5K Run/Walk along with a Car/Bike Show at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds on June 11.
You can come join the fair queen and her court for a day of hot cars, food, music by DJ Mad Maxx, kid’s activities and a variety of craft and retail vendors.
The 5k run/walk will begin at the fairgrounds and winds through the west side of Clearfield. It is a family-friendly and dog-friendly race that also includes a stroller division.
Awards will be presented to the top three overall male/female finishers as well as the top three finishers in each age group, male and female. The top three finishers with a stroller will also win an award.
Participants are encouraged to join in the royal spirit and dress in costume as their favorite prince or princess for the race. Tutus, tiaras and pixy wings are welcome. A $50 Visa gift card will be given to the winner of the best royal appearance.

Day-of registration will be from 7:15 a.m. – 8:15 a.m. with the race beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Pre?registration is $20 (T?shirt guaranteed if registered by May 20) and $10 (no T-shirt); day-of registration is $25 (T?shirts available will supplies last).
Mint Condition will be providing pre- and post?race stretching. Post?race refreshments will be provided, and there will also be door prizes given away.
A Kid’s Fun Run will be held following the 5K. Registration for the fun run will be day-of the event and is $5.
A prize will be given to the best royal appearance costume. All finishers will receive a medal.
Registration for the car/bike show will be day-of from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Awards will be presented at 4 p.m. The registration fee is $10 per entry.
The first 75 registrants for the car/bike show will receive a dash plaque. A basket raffle will also be held.
Several kid’s activities are in the planning stages, including a craft table by Daisy Troop No. 27013, a coloring station, pony rides by local 4H groups and a kids pedal tractor pull. Also, the Clearfield Conservation District plans to bring its milking cow station and Plinko game.
The event will be held rain or shine. Funds raised throughout the day’s events will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network and local causes. Donations to CMN at Geisinger provide life?saving equipment for its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
The special guest of honor at last year’s event was CMN Miracle Child Neveah Brown and her family of Osceola Mills.
Queens for a Cause made a donation of $5,000 at the CMN Telethon in June of 2016 as well as a $500 donation in Neveah’s name.
To date, Queens for a Cause has donated more than $150,000 to CMN and local charities.
