CLEARFIELD – District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week.
Shaw identified the fugitive as Chancellor Shaw, 23, of Patty Lane, Curwensville. He’s wanted for failure to appear at Revocation Court on April 17, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On March 26, 2015, Officer David Fye of the Clearfield Borough Police Department filed a criminal complaint, charging Shaw with firearms not to be carried without a license, F3; possession of a controlled substance, M, three counts; use/possession of drug paraphernalia, M; small amount of marijuana, M; recklessly endangering another person, M2; and disorderly conduct, M3.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, officers were on routine patrol March 26, 2015 when they heard a single gunshot. After a brief patrol of the area, officers made contact with a male who was identified as Shaw.
At first, Shaw stated that officers had heard him set off fireworks. Upon further questioning, he allegedly admitted to discharging a firearm.
Shaw then directed officers to the firearm, and they allegedly located various items of drug paraphernalia and controlled substances. It was further determined that Shaw did not possess a permit to carry a firearm.
A preliminary hearing was held Oct. 21, 2015. On April 17, Shaw failed to appear at Revocation Court, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Shaw is described as a Caucasian male who stands 5 feet, 8 inches tall. He has blue eyes and brown hair.
