Junior Achievement 5k “Mom & Me” Family Fun Run to Support Local School Programs

PUNXSUTAWNEY – Junior Achievement (JA) is a non-profit organization that strives to give youth a promising future through its goal to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.

The local board of advisors works to keep all programming free of charge for participating schools.

On May 13 Junior Achievement will host a 5k “Mom & Me” Family Fun Run in Punxsutawney.  The run will utilize the Shadow Mahoning trail, starting in the park in downtown Punxsutawney.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. with the run starting at 10 a.m.  A timing clock will be present for those wanting to record their times.

Registration is $15 for runners, $10 for students (ages 13-17 years) and walkers.  Kids 12 years and under are free.  You can register for the race online.

Event proceeds will benefit Junior Achievement, which works with local schools to provide children Kindergarten through 12th grade the basics of financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness.

The event is proudly sponsored by Community Action Inc. and the Primary Health Charitable Foundation.
