Obituary Notice: Mary F. Laman

Mary F. Laman, 89, of DuBois died Thursday, April 13, 2017 at her home.

Born Feb. 8, 1928 in Reynoldsville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Antonio (Sorbelli) Cuba and Mary A. (DeLuca) Cuba.

She was married to Richard J. Laman.  He preceded her in death.

She was a graduate of the DuBois Business College. She, along with her husband, Richard, was the owner of the DuBois Nissan-Saab Garage for many years. Prior to that, she had worked for Rockwell International Manufacturing in DuBois.

She was a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and the funeral lunch bereavement committee. She was also an American Red Cross volunteer.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Hartzfeld and her husband, Thomas of DuBois and Roseann Gesell of Atlanta, Ga., one grandson, Tommy Hartzfeld and her friend and caregiver, Shawna Miles of Luthersburg. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna and Frances Cuba and six brothers, James, John, Lawrence, Joseph, William and Richard Cuba.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Baronick Funeral Home and Crematorium Inc.

A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
