‘Friends! The Musical’ is coming this fall

They’ll be there for you — on stage.

Well, not the actual cast of “Friends,” but a parody of the hit TV series will debut off-Broadway in the fall.

The production is not affiliated with the wildly popular NBC show but is rooted in appreciation for it. “Friends” ran 10 seasons before its 2004 finale.

More than a decade later, “Friends” fans still want the cast of Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer to get back together, despite assertions it’s unlikely.

“Friends” the play is not an entirely new idea.

There was a sold out preview at Chicago SketchFest 2015 of “Friends: The One Where They Sing! (The Unauthorized Musical Parody).

The New York City production will debut at the Triad Theatre.

It’s written by Bob and Tobly McSmith, who also produced the musical parody “Katdashians! The Musical.”

“It only makes sense to set our sights on the hit TV show ‘Friends’ after creating parody musicals about ‘Saved by the Bell,’ ‘Full House,’ and “Beverley Hills, 90210,” Tobly McSmith told Entertainment Weekly. “Not only do we poke fun and celebrate the show, we also get some jokes in about the actor’s lives,” including their hefty salaries.”

McSmith said he would love for some of the sitcom stars to come and participate, joking that “our first call is to the agent of Marcel the Monkey.”

Tickets for the musical go on sale via the show’s site in June.
