Obituary Notice: Robert G. Frailey (Provided photo)

Robert G. Frailey, 91, of Curwensville went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday April 11, 2017 at his home, where he resided with his loving wife of 16 years Helen (Riddle) Frailey, and to whom he was wed Aug. 5, 2000.

Born Dec. 8, 1925 in Berwinsdale, he was the son of Crawford C. and Dora (Hazelton) Frailey.  He was married first to Violet (Curry) Frailey for 53 years.  They lived in Niagara Falls, NY, where he worked for Hooker Chemical, now Occidental Petroleum, until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Helen, and five step-children who shared a close and loving relationship with him, Vicki Sloan and her husband, Tim of Grove City, Laurie Sopic and her husband, Doug of Grampian, Dawn Bloom and her husband, Brett of Mount Pocono and Doug Marshall and his wife, Ginger and George Marshall III, both of Curwensville.

He was “Pap” to 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and they will miss him dearly.

In addition, he is survived by four sisters, Alvetta Kearns, Mabel Brink, Donna Slingerland and Nancy Holes; a brother, Dean Frailey; and two brothers-in-law, Raymond Posanskey and Delmar Slingerland, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, “Vi”; a brother, Huber Frailey; and four sisters, Mira Jean Diem, Dorothy Stiver, Luella Posanskey and Delma Frailey.

He was a member of the Cherry Corner Bible Church, where he served on the board and helped on several different building projects.

He loved to hunt and fish, gardening and yard work, including mowing.  He was a kind and wonderful man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life.  No matter what he was doing he was “having fun.”

When advancing years started to slow him down, he bought a golf cart, much to the joy of the great-grandkids, and never tired of taking them for rides, checking out wildlife and maybe picking some apples along the way.

What a blessing it was to have had him in our lives.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Cherry Corner Bible Church, Curwensville, with the Rev. George W. Solley officiating.  Burial will be in the Fairview Baptist Cemetery, LaJose.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Friday at the church.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Cherry Corner Bible Church, c/o 155 Nellie’s Rd., Grampian, PA 16838.
