Route 150 Project to Re-start Monday in Centre County

BELLEFONTE – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will re-start a safety improvement project on Route 150 in the Bellefonte area on April 3.

This year’s work will include construction activity at three intersections; Water and Lamb streets, Water and High streets and High and Spring streets.

On Monday, work will start with excavation to start the installation of new traffic signal poles at the previously mentioned intersections. During this time, motorists may experience short traffic delays between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Work in 2016 consisted of the excavation and construction of a traffic separator in the median of Route 150 between Myrtle Street and Rockrimmon Drive.

Overall project work this year includes the construction of traffic signal supports, ADA ramp installation with detectable warning surface, concrete curving, paving, pavement markings and miscellaneous items.

HRI Inc. of State College is the contractor on this $1.2 million job. The project is scheduled to be completed in early October.

PennDOT reminds drivers to use caution in and around all work zones, obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
