BELL TOWNSHIP – A 15-year-old boy died from injuries suffered in a garbage-burning accident Tuesday evening on Smay Lane in Bell Township, reported state police at Punxsutawney.
State police say the boy was burning bags of garbage in a metal burn barrel. While he was putting a bag of garbage in the barrel, an item exploded.
According to state police, the item struck the boy in the neck. He was flown to the Altoona Hospital where he died from his injuries.
