Peter Wasilko, 87, of Smithmill and DeBary, Fla., died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017 in Central Florida Hospital.
Born April 5, 1929 in Smithmill, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Dobish) Wasilko.
He was a 1947 graduate of Bigler Township High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the St. Vladimir Orthodox Church.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 591 in Houtzdale, VFW Post 3450 in Philipsburg and the B.P.O.E Lodge 1173 in Philipsburg.
He is survived by two children, Jeffrey Wasilko and Wanda Wasilko, two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Chronister and Mary Gotesch and six brothers, Nick, Samuel, Mike, Frank, Charles and George Wasilko.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at 1 p.m. at the Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services Inc., Ramey. Fr. Paul Bigelow will be officiating.
Burial, with military honors, will follow in the St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery.
