CLEARFIELD – District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week. He has identified the fugitive as Dana Maines, 22, of Main Street, Big Run.

Maines is wanted for her failure to appear at criminal call Jan. 12, at which time a warrant was issued for her arrest.

On Aug. 4, 2016, Officer Derrick Welsh of the Sandy Township Police Department filed a criminal complaint, charging Maines with access device fraud, M1, two counts, and theft by unlawful taking, M2, two counts.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on July 3, 2016, Welsh met with a female regarding a theft. She stated that while attending a party, she noticed her debit card was missing from her wallet.

Additionally, she told Welsh that since the card had gone missing, she noticed two separate fraudulent ATM withdrawals.

During his investigation, Welsh was able to obtain video from a local bank. Maines was allegedly observed making the two fraudulent withdrawals.

A preliminary hearing was held Sept. 9, 2016, at which time all charges were held to court. On Jan. 12 Maines failed to appear at criminal call, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Maines is described as a Caucasian female who stands 5 feet, 3 inches tall. She has blonde hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with knowledge of Maines’ location is asked to call Clearfield County Crime Stoppers at 800-376-4700. All calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential.
