Clearfield Borough Approves Site Plan for Continental Carbonics

CLEARFIELD – A site plan for a new business has met the approval of the Clearfield Borough Council.

At Thursday’s meeting, the council voted to approve the site plan for Continental Carbonic.

Code Enforcement Officer Larry Mack said the plans were approved by the borough’s planning commission and have been reviewed by the borough’s engineers.

“They’re anxious to get started so I’m glad to see things moving along,” Mack said.

According to previous GANT News articles, the council voted to approve consolidating three lots on Technology Drive. The lots, formerly Fulesday Machine Shop, the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Meals on Wheels property and a parking lot are owned by the Pennsylvania Grain Processing ethanol plant.

The consolidation will allow PGP to lease the property to Continental Carbonic. Continental Carbonic plans to build a facility next to the PGP plant to capture the carbon dioxide emissions produced by the PGP plant and will turn the CO2 into dry ice.
