Local Staffing Company’s ‘Community Give Back’ Program Returns for Third Year
DUBOIS – As residents of the communities they serve, employees of the DuBois office of Spherion Staffing Services, a recruiting, staffing and workforce solutions provider, see the needs of their neighbors each day.
That’s why the DuBois Spherion branch is turning compassion into action by donating $1,500 to the Penn Highlands Hahne Cancer Center as part of its annual Community Give Back program.
DuBois Spherion operations manager Kelly Shilala has a heart for those who have been affected by cancer and hopes one day the disease will be a problem of the past.
The DuBois Spherion team wants to raise awareness about this disease for not only the individuals suffering, but for the families and friends that are also impacted.
Shilala hopes that her branch’s donation will go toward developing more effective cancer treatments and ultimately, a cure.
Having witnessed the impact of cancer on the people of DuBois, Shilala looks forward to the day her neighbors, as well as people nationwide, will have improved outcomes associated with a cancer diagnosis.
The Penn Highlands Hahne Cancer Center provides complete cancer care for patients, which extends beyond providing chemotherapy and radiation therapy; the center also strives to meet the personal and emotional needs of the patient.
“The meaningful work of the Penn Highlands Hahne Cancer Center impacts all of DuBois by providing resources and support for affected individuals and their families, which in turn, helps maintain the health of our community,” said Shilala.
“The Penn Highlands Hahne Cancer Center is an outstanding organization, and we are delighted to recognize and reward them as part of our Community Give Back program. We are honored to support the essential work they do today and will do in the future.”
Now in its third year, Spherion’s national Community Give Back program is proud to recognize and advance the work of local charitable organizations that puts others first.
As part of the program, each local Spherion franchise owner thoughtfully selects one or more nearby community organizations to receive a special contribution.
Since starting the initiative in 2014, Spherion’s Community Give Back efforts has rewarded nationwide recipients with nearly half a million dollars during the holiday season.
