Thomas E. Moslak, 95, formerly of Reynoldsville and Hawk Run, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, at Christ the King Manor, DuBois.
Born May 17, 1921, in Munson, he was the son of the late Joseph Bernard and Mary Ann (Beroshok) Moslak.
He was a 1939 graduate of the former Cooper Township High School. While in high school, he held two house coal routes and two pool halls. He also attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Moslak was a veteran of World War II. He served with the U.S. Navy in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters of Operation.
His assignments included the USS New York (BB-34), the USS Leedstown (APA-56) and the USS Maurice J. Manuel (DE-351).
He was married to the former Elizabeth D. Patrick, on Dec. 29, 1944 at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Winburne. She preceded him in death May 1, 1999.
After serving with the Navy, Mr. Moslak was employed as an audit clerk at the Middletown Air Depot, Harrisburg.
Then, he was appointed as postmaster in the late 1940’s for the Hawk Run Post Office, a position he would hold for 31 years until his retirement. He constructed Hawk Run’s current Post Office building.
He also had a coal business partnership with his late brother, Mike. Together they operated the former Moslak Coal Co. until its closing in the 1960’s.
Mr. Moslak was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Hawk Run. He had previously served as a Eucharistic Minister for his church.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Holy Family Council No. 8701, Morrisdale. He enjoyed working on his house, tinkering and shooting pool.
In addition to his parents and wife, Elizabeth, he was preceded in death by four sisters and their respective spouses, Ann Madole (Spence), Kathleen Meyers (Robert), Florence Lockey (Clements “Tim”) and Frances Boron Marrara (Sam); four brothers, Michael (Edith), John (Genevieve), Joseph (Elizabeth) and Ben Moslak; three infant brothers, Stephen, Paul and Frank Moslak; a sister–in-law, Mary Moslak; and a brother-law, Joseph Rydzik.
Mr. Moslak is survived by one daughter, Mary Beth Stojek and her husband, Tom of Punxsutawney; one son, Thomas A. Moslak Sr. and his wife, Teresa of Pottstown; two grandchildren, Thomas A. Moslak Jr. and his wife, Leahann of Mechanicsburg and Katherine Moslak of New York City, NY; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Mason Moslak of Mechanicsburg; one sister, Mary Rydzik of North Tonawanda, NY; one brother, Eugene Moslak of Raleigh, NC; one sister–in–law, Beverly Moslak of (Glass City) RD Philipsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service was held at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Hawk Run. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.

The funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg.
