Ida Irene Reader, 80, of Hawk Run died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, at her residence.
Born Nov. 30, 1936 in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Julius and Margaret (Knepp) Rech. She was of the Christian faith.
She was a graduate of the former Philipsburg High School. She was a homemaker.
She was also employed as an assembler for about 10 years with the former Centre Engineering, Osceola Mills.
Her hobbies included corresponding with numerous pen pals and spending time on the computer.
She was married Nov. 26, 1955 in Winchester, Va., to Robert Ray Reader. He preceded her in death July 15, 2014.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, James Reader; one granddaughter, Alicia Reader; and one grandson, Robert Reader.
She is survived by one daughter, Peggy Custred of Hawk Run; five sons, Don Reader of Lake Worth, Fla., Dan Reader and his wife, Tracy, Rob Reader and his companion, Cindy Demchak and Steve Reader and his companion, Roxanne Carter, all of Houtzdale, and Bill Reader and his wife, Olga of Miami, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph Rech and his wife, Myrtle of (Twigg Settlement) RD Philipsburg, and William Rech and his wife, Christine of Midlothian, Va.; one sister, Ann Scott and her husband, Ross of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Dec. 3, 2016 at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg, with Pastor Mary Emery officiating.
