Gary L. Reed, 74, of Frenchville died Friday, Nov. 18, 2016 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.
He was born May 16, 1942 in Wilkinsburg, the son of the late Edgar W. Reed Sr. and Maxine (Ecklund) Reed.
She was a member of Congress Hill United Methodist Church.
He worked his whole life on his family’s farm Rolling Acres Dairy Farm. He was a great help on the family farm. He also enjoyed going to farm shows, the fair and the truck/tractor pulls.
He loved his hot rod car magazines, and he could tell you what type of an engine a car had just by the sound of it.
She is survived by his four brothers and a sister, Edgar W. Reed Jr. and his wife, Charlene R. of Troutville, James A. Reed and his wife, Glenda M. of Woodland, David R. Reed and his wife, Sally A. of Frenchville, Dawn E. Sankey and her husband, Frank “Bud” of Clearfield and Dennis A. Reed of Grampian; 10 nieces and nephews; and 16 great-nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Congress Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Henry officiating. Burial will be in Fruit Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc. An additional hour of viewing will be held from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
