Stanley J. “Stan” Mitskavich, 62, of DuBois died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born Aug. 24, 1954, he was the son of the late Nester “Nesty” and Lillian A. (Rokoski) Mitskavich.
He attended DuBois Central Catholic High School and the Pennsylvania State University and Clarion University.
He was employed from a young age at the DuBois Lanes. He made a life-long commitment to the game and to the bowlers he served. He, along with his family, operated the DuBois Bowling Lanes for many years.
He was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in DuBois.
He is survived by two brothers, Michael C. Mitskavich and Thomas M. Mitskavich and his wife, Jackie, both of DuBois, and two sisters, Susan Hindman and her husband, Bart of Clarion and Dr. Mary Mitskavich and her husband, Gary Wnorowski of Avon by the Sea, NJ.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Mitskavich.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
