Lynn R. Yeager, 82, of Clearfield died Monday, Nov. 7, 2016 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center. 

He was born Sept. 22, 1934, a son of the late Austin L. and Alta E. (Read) Yeager.

On June 16, 1956, he married Nancy J. Semelsberger at Trinity United Methodist in Clearfield.

Mr. Yeager was a graduate from the Clearfield Area High School in 1952.

He was the owner of Yeager Trucking, which later became Yeager Moving and Storage Inc., and franchised Mayflower and Wheaton Lines until his retirement.

He was a life-long member of the EUB, now Christ United Methodist Church, Seventh and Dorey, and a choir member.

Mr. Yeager was a long-time participant of the Old Town Softball League, playing for Clearfield Machine and West Side Distributing.

He was a long-time Clearfield Little League coach and sponsor, as well as a long-time YMCA supporter, playing basketball and volleyball for years.

He loved to hunt and to spend time outdoors; most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

His survivors include his wife of 60 years, Nancy J. (Semelsberger) Yeager; three sons, Edward Lynn and his wife, Colleen, John “Jay” Austin and Michael Louis and his wife, Amie; grandchildren, Thomas and his wife, Amber, Molly, Gretchen and Austin Yeager; great-grandchildren, Mason and Kyra Yeager; and brother, Glenn A. Yeager and his wife, Theresa.

He was preceded in death by parents; grand-daughter, Brooke Erin Yeager; and nephew, Scott Yeager.

Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc.

An additional hour of viewing will be from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Friday at the Christ United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Christ United Methodist Church, with Pastor Sallie Swenson officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
