Sankey PennDOT Property Sale Legislation Becomes Law

HARRISBURG – Gov. Tom Wolf has signed into law legislation authored by state Rep. Tommy Sankey (R-Clearfield/Cambria) that will permit sale of the vacant property, which formerly housed the District 2 PennDOT office on Route 322 in Lawrence Township. As a result, House Bill 2014 has become Act 141 of 2016.

“The Department of General Services will now be able to put the building and adjoining property up for bid after seeing it sit vacant for a number of years,” Sankey said.

The property consists of 4.27 acres of land and the building that once served as PennDOT’s regional office for Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Juniata, McKean, Mifflin and Potter counties.

Proceeds from the sale will be deposited in the Motor License Fund, which finances transportation projects and the Pennsylvania State Police.

Questions about this or any legislative issue should be directed to Sankey’s Hastings district office at 814-247-6210, his Osceola Mills office at 814-339-6544 or his Clearfield office at 814-765-0609.
