Oliver Marmol, who led the State College Spikes to their first-ever division and New York-Penn League championships, has been named the St. Louis Cardinals’ new first-base coach, as announced by the Cardinals on Thursday. Marmol became the Spikes’ manager in 2013 and guided the club to its first ever NYPL Pinckney Division title and NYPL Championship Series berth before skippering the Spikes to the NYPL crown in 2014.
