CLEARFIELD – Richie Shaffer, a Boy Scout of Troop 9, held a fundraiser concert at the Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre (CAST) this summer to raise money for his Eagle Scout Project.

His project was to scrape and repaint the woodwork on the main outdoor side of the building. Shaffer chose this project because of his strong connection to CAST.

He has been playing for the Fright Night Live open mic/comedy nights for the past two years, and he had a cameo appearance in the musical “Rock of Ages” at CAST in the spring.

The fundraising concert was such a success that after the project’s expenses were paid for, Shaffer was able to donate more than $900 to CAST to help its continuous revitalization.

The CAST board of directors sends a big thank you to Shaffer and all the scouts and parents of Boy Scout Troop 9 who helped with this project.
