Sankey Legislation Would Allow for Sale of Former Clearfield County PennDOT Building

CLEARFIELD  Legislation authored by state Rep. Tommy Sankey (R-Clearfield/Cambria), which allows sale of the vacant property that formerly housed the District 2 PennDOT office on Route 322 in Lawrence Township, has been sent to Gov. Tom Wolf.

House Bill 2014 was passed unanimously Wednesday by the state Senate, having already been passed unanimously by the state House.

“This property has sat vacant for a few years,” Sankey said. “House Bill 2014 would allow PennDOT to sell the building and 4.27 acre of property through bidding. All that’s left is for the governor to sign the bill into law.”

House Bill 2014 authorizes the Department of General Services to sell the land and building through a competitive bid process.

Proceeds from the sale will be deposited in the Motor License Fund, which finances transportation projects and the Pennsylvania State Police.

Questions about this or any legislative issue should be directed to Sankey’s Hastings district office at 814-247-6210, his Osceola Mills office at 814-339-6544 or his Clearfield office at 814-765-0609.
