Pine Creek K-9 Search Unit Receives Certifications

The Pine Creek K-9 Search Unit has announced that two K-9s received new certifications and two others received re-certifications through the International Bloodhound Training Institute.

The unit had a training and testing seminar from Oct. 20-23 across Jefferson and Clearfield counties Each K-9 team was tested in their man-trailing skills by two INBTI trainers from Long Island.

Heather Dimmick and K-9 Karma (Clearfield) and Carlee Hidinger and K-9 Moses (Brockway) each received new certifications in man-trailing while Trudy Garvey with K-9 Delilah and Jake (Brookville) received re-certifications.

The unit now has four certified man-trailing K-9s, two certified cadaver K-9s, air scent K-9s and many pups in training.

Pine Creek K-9 Search Unit is an all-volunteer K-9 search team based out of Jefferson Count. They cover the northwest central region of Pennsylvania and will assist statewide and nationwide by official request.
