CLEARFIELD – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is pleased to announce the winners of District 2’s “Paint the Plow” contests, which came to a close recently.

District 2 offered the contest for the first time this year and concentrated on schools in Clearfield County. A “Fan Favorite” choice and an Overall Winner were selected.

The “Fan Favorite” was chosen through Facebook, with users “liking” their favorite in the contest photo albums on the PennDOT Facebook page. The Overall Winner was chosen by a panel of judges.

District 2’s “Fan Favorite” winner is Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School. The school was also selected by the judging panel as the Overall Winner.

“Offering Paint the Plow was a special experience for us”, said District Executive Karen Michael. “The art work is stunning and it’s been wonderful to see area students participate so enthusiastically in such a fun way.”

All high schools across Clearfield County were invited to promote winter safety by painting department plows that were delivered to the schools. Five schools participated including Clearfield, Curwensville, DuBois, Harmony, and Moshannon Valley.

The plows will be mounted to a plow truck in the areas of the respective school districts for the upcoming winter season.
