Community Action to Re-open Bellefonte Office

BELLEFONTE – Central Pennsylvania Community Action Inc. (CPCA) is pleased to announce the grand re-opening celebration of the non-profit agency’s Bellefonte office, at 109 W. Bishop St.

It will take place from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29. The location had been closed for several months for renovations, and it re-opened for service Sept. 26.

Grand re-opening activities will include door prizes and refreshments, plus an introduction to the location’s Work Wear Boutique, which benefits men and women who need assistance with clothing for their jobs.

The general public may also utilize the Work Wear Boutique.  The inventory has been supplied by professionals at Sigma Aldrich, the local Soroptimists Club and by generous residents of Centre County.

The CPCA Bellefonte office will also be the location for the agency’s new work-force development program, CPCA Works.

CPCA Works, which begins in January of 2017, is available to unemployed men and women residing in Centre County, and is designed to provide enrollees with training and support to better enable them to find meaningful employment.

CPCA is an anti-poverty agency, which has been serving the communities in Centre and Clearfield counties for nearly 50 years by offering services, such as weatherization, affordable housing, workforce training, rental assistance, utility assistance, food pantries and medical transportation.

CPCA has five office locations:  Aaronsburg, Bellefonte and Philipsburg in Centre County and Clearfield and Houtzdale in Clearfield County.
