KYLERTOWN – If you are looking for a frightfully good Halloween experience, you are in luck.

The Kylertown Community Association will be holding its third annual Haunted Hayride event on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28-29.

Tickets will be on sale from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. The last one will conclude once every ticketholder has had a chance to ride the hayride.

The hayride will trek over a 35-minute route beginning and ending at the Kylertown Black Diamond Athletic Park on Kyler Lane in Kylertown.

The mile-and-a-half route encircles the former Ames Airport grounds and North runway.  The airport was last used in the 1970’s and, according to local legend, is haunted.

A planned 15 “hauntings” and other attractions will occur at various locations along the route to provide the ultimate Halloween haunted hayride experience.

In 2015, more than 800 souls were haunted at the Kylertown Haunted Hayride.  Organizers are expecting an even bigger crowd this year and have added several new displays for 2016.

The Kylertown Black Diamond Athletic Park concession stand will be open both evenings. Coffee, hot chocolate, soda, sloppy joes, hot dogs and pumpkin pie will be served.

Ham and bean soup will be slow-cooked over an open fire and available to patrons this year, as well.

The Kylertown Community Association would like to thank a growing list of local businesses that have made a donation to help make the hayride possible.

The list includes the Larson Family of Kylertown, CNB Bank, Linda’s Paw Spa of Kylertown, Mountain View Market Place of Kylertown, J. Krasinski Trucking & Excavating of Morrisdale, Casanova Nostalgia Restaurant of Munson, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 97 of Morrisdale and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1565 of Clarence.

The association is asking for a $4 donation to ride the hayride, and children under five years old are free.  Proceeds from this event are used by the Kylertown Community Association for a variety of community projects within Kylertown.

The association helps maintain the Kylertown Black Diamond Athletic Park, which is home to the Kylertown Little League, Minor League and Senior League baseball programs.

The funds raised directly affects the association’s ability to maintain and make improvements to the facilities.  Additional information about the Kylertown Community Association can be found on the group’s Web site at www.kylertown.org.
