Thelma S. Trout, 100, of Clearfield died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016 at her home.
She was born Dec. 24, 1915 in Mahaffey, the daughter of the late Jack and Harriet (Hepburn) Starr.
On March 9, 1934, she married Thomas Boyd Trout, who died in May of 1991.
She was protestant by faith. Her passion was playing the piano. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening, but above all, she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her two daughters, Beatrice Anne Decker of Pennsylvania Furnace and Patricia Jean Williams of Clearfield; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Van Hoyweghen Trout of Marion, NY; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; son, Thomas Starr Trout; grandson, Steven Mark Williams; great-granddaughter, Laurel Grayce Williams; and her eight siblings. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Friends will be received beginning at 6 p.m. Monday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc.; the funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Thomas Young officiating. Burial will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park.
