Florence C. Luther, 74, of DuBois died Monday, Oct. 17, 2016 at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.
Born July 7, 1942 in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Mary (Gnan) Luther.
After high school, she graduated from St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in Erie.
She retired as a registered nurse from the Dubois Regional Medical Center after 35 years of service. She was instrumental in the formation of the first Intensive Care Unit at the hospital.
She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.
She is survived by two cousins, Catherine Farr and her husband, John of DuBois and Joseph Kuniski and his wife, Mary of Coppell, Texas and her two beloved cats, Abby and Dudley.
Friends will be received from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, at the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
