Steven M. Williams, 55, of Clearfield died Friday, Oct. 14, 2016 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.

Mr. Williams was born Dec. 2, 1960, the son of Kenneth I. and Patricia (Trout) Williams of Clearfield.

He graduated from Clearfield Area High School in 1978, where he was a regional wrestling champion.

He studied at Lock Haven State University, where he belonged to the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He was a member of the wrestling team.

Also, Lock Haven was where he developed his love for entertainment as a DJ at WLHC, the campus radio station.

Mr. Williams spent several years living in Fort Smith, Ark., continuing his work as a radio personality with various stations, as well as working as a sales representative for Cox Communications.

Known as “Willie Stevens” while in Fort Smith, he was involved with several charities, where he was recognized for his philanthropic work. One couldn’t attend an event without having “Willie” as the Master of Ceremonies, seeking to promote the welfare of others.

Mr. Williams was Methodist by faith.

He is survived by his parents; two children, Mariel Williams Young and her husband, Francis of Cambridge, Mass., and Beck Andreas Williams of Fort Smith, Ark..; a sister, Susan Williams Davis and her husband, Trent of York; and a brother, Jeffrey Lee Williams and his fiancée, Kristy Sass of Curwensville.

He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Thelma Trout of Clearfield; a niece, Aubree Elizabeth Davis; two nephews, Levi Thomas Davis and Micah Slye Davis; his former wife, Nancy (Gray) Perkinson of Fort Smith, Ark.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and members of the “Studson Brother’s Fan Club.”

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his precious daughter, Laurel Grayce Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield with the Rev. Thomas Young officiating. Burial will be at Crown Crest Memorial Park.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
