Big Brother Encourages Others to Volunteer, Help Kids through Children’s Aid Society’s BBBS Program

CLEARFIELD – Kolby was on the waiting list for a mentor for over a year when he was finally matched with his Big Brother, Alex, over a month ago.

Alex became a Big Brother because he wanted to make an impact on someone’s life. Kolby is eight years old and he wanted a Big Brother to have fun with.

Kolby’s favorite part about having a Big Brother is getting to go places with him. Kolby shared that they like to have fun together and talk about how he is doing. He says that his Big Brother, Alex, has taught him to be safe.

Kolby’s favorite memory with his Big Brother was when he went bowling with him.

Alex shared that he likes to talk to his Little Brother about how their week is going and to do activities outside together. His Little Brother has shown him that he has plenty to learn from him. His favorite memory with Kolby so far was when they went hiking at Bilger’s Rocks.

Alex wants people to know that they should volunteer to become a Big Brother or Big Sister because there are plenty of kids in the area in need of positive role models.

You, too, can make a difference in a child’s life by calling Big Brothers Big Sisters at 814-765-2687 or e-mail bbbs@childaid.org.
