A loose latch on Mamas & Papas Armadillo Flip Strollers can cause unexpected tipping, resulting in possible infant injury, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission said Wednesday. Mamas & Papas, a United Kingdom-based manufacturer, has received 10 reports of seats suddenly tipping back in the United States, though no injuries to children have occurred.
About 3,000 of these strollers were sold in the US and one in Canada between December 2014 and July 2016. All of the Chinese-manufactured models are folding single-occupant strollers in various colors including black, teal and navy.
Consumers should stop using the strollers immediately and contact Mamas & Papas for a free repair, the commission said.
The company’s website says its products are sold at Albee Baby, Baby’s Den, Buy Buy Baby, Right Start and specialist retailers across the United States. The strollers have also been sold online through Amazon and the company’s website.
Recalled items can be identified by their lot number, which is printed on the sewn-in label on the stroller. Ranges for recalled Flip strollers are 00814 (August ’14) through 00416 (April ’16) and, for the Flip XT, 01214 (December ’14) through 00416 (April ’16).
