Sandra L. Malinich, 70, of Hyde went to be with her Lord and Savior after a brief illness on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

She was born Dec. 19, 1945 in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Winfield and Ellen (Roach) Bambarger.

She had been an in-home care provider for the past six years.  She had retired from Grice Gun Shop, Clearfield, and had also previously been employed at Clearfield Hardware for five years.  She took great pride and enjoyed raising her family.

She was a member of Center Grove United Methodist Church.  She was also involved with the Dog Kennel Club and a member of the Clearfield Hobby Garden Club.  She was the first female firefighter at Hyde Fire Company Station No. 6 and a life member of the Hyde Fire Company and Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Leroy J. Malinich, to whom she was wed March 7, 1964 in Osceola Mills.

She is survived by three children, Sandra Miller and her husband, Dean of Milton, Jody L. Malinich of McClure and Tammy Byerly and her husband, Rick of Clearfield.

She is survived by five grandchildren, Sarah Miller, Danielle Miller, Christopher Malinich, Amber Beichner and her husband, Brad and Rebecca Oldt and her husband, Matt and two great-grandchildren, Giovanni Malinich and Lydia Beichner.

She is also survived by four sisters, Cheryl Miller and her husband, Melvin, Nancy Harris and her husband, Greg and Amy Phillips, all of Osceola Mills, and Joan Josefick and her husband, Bob of Grassflat.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 29 at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Oct. 29 at the funeral home.
