Annual Halloween Parade Set for Oct. 25

CLEARFIELD – The annual Halloween parade, which is organized by the Kiwanis Club, will be held Oct. 25 at the Clearfield Driving Park.

The parade will step off at 7 p.m.; line-up will begin at 6:30 p.m. The 2016 theme is “The Secret Life of Pets.”

The club hopes costumes will encompass a wide variety of characters from the movie, “A Secret Life of Pets.”

There is neither any cost to participate nor registration. Those who would like to participate should gather at the end of Stadium Drive between the grandstand and Weaver Street by 6:30 p.m.

Kiwanis Club, Key Club and Woman’s Club members will organize the line-up.  The parade will go around the driving park’s grove area by proceeding up Stadium Drive.

It will make a right onto Park Drive and then a left onto McBride Street. It will proceed left onto Paddock Drive and then left again onto Park Drive before turning right onto Stadium Drive.

A pumpkin decorating contest will also be held at the event. Children 12 years and younger are invited to decorate pumpkins and enter them into a competition at a table near the judge’s stand.

Cash prizes will be awarded in two age categories: 6 years and younger and 7-12 years.

The Kiwanis Club thanks all of those who assist with and make the parade possible, including: Clearfield Borough Council, Clearfield Borough police, Clearfield Volunteer Fire Department, Clearfield Fire Police, Clearfield EMS, Clearfield Fair and Park Board, Tim Winters, wOK!w, Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School marching bands, Children’s Aid Society, Clearfield Woman’s Club, Clearfield Revitalization Corp., and the 2016 parade sponsor CBT Bank.
