Obituary Notice: Evo G. Facchine

Evo G. Facchine, 84, of DuBois died Monday, Sept. 26, 2016.

Born April 11, 1932 in Caledonia, Pa., he was the son of the late Leonard and Angela (Delpiva) Facchine.

He was a graduate of Penn State University in the class of 1955 with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering.

He was a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army who had as a navigator/bombardier on the B47 medium jet bomber.

On Feb. 4, 1956, he married Ann (Carobine) Facchine.  They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

He was a successful entrepreneur in a variety of businesses, including engineering, real estate, construction and land development.

He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.

He served as past board member and president of the Rotary Club of DuBois, the DuBois Area Chamber of Commerce and the Bennetts Valley Alumni Association.

Also, he was founder of the DuBois Area Historical Society, serving nine years as its president.  He also enjoyed opera and researching family history.

He is survived by two children, Robert Facchine and his wife, Beth of Rochester, NY and Jennifer Facchine and her husband, William Adams of Mechanicsburg; a brother, Leo Facchine of New Jersey; a sister, Mae Merley of Ellicott City, Md.; and four grandchildren, Jessica and William Adams and Hillary and Stephanie Facchine.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers, John, Alphonse, Anthony, Felix, Ernie, Guido, and Sylvio Facchine and three sisters, Anna Davis, Irene Baraufflo and Enes Facchine.

Friends will be held from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Edward Walk as celebrant.

Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
