Obituary Notice: Pauline J. Zurinsky

Pauline J. Zurinsky, 96, formerly of DuBois and a resident of Christ the King Manor, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa., with her daughter and son-in-law present.

Born Jan. 25, 1920 in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Hedwig (Mondgel) Goodford.

On Sept. 1, 1956, she married Anthony Zurinsky.  He preceded her in death in 2004.

She worked for Sylvania in Emporium and then Rockwell International Manufacturing in DuBois.

She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Infant of Prague Society.

She was a homemaker, an American Red Cross volunteer and a poll volunteer for elections.

She is survived by a daughter, Laura “Lori” Jesberger and her husband, John of Treasure Lake, DuBois, and a granddaughter, Janel Jesberger of Philadelphia.

She was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Zurinsky; four brothers, Stanley, Leo, Anthony and John Goodford; and five sisters, Mary Olis, Josie Brown, Helen Olis, Rosie Goodford and Annie Goodford.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.

A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
