CLEARFIELD – District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week. He has identified the fugitive as Brent Shaffer, 32, of Clark Road, Olanta.
Shaffer is wanted in two, separate cases for failure to appear at Criminal Call Sept. 1, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On March 1 Officer Alex Burkett of the Clearfield Borough Police Department filed a criminal complaint, charging Shaffer with possession of a controlled substance, M, three counts, and use/possession of drug paraphernalia, M, two counts.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Feb. 24 officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. Both the driver and the passenger were confirmed to have warrants. Upon exiting the vehicle, Shaffer was searched and allegedly found to be in possession of various prescription pills and items of drug paraphernalia.
A preliminary hearing was held April 27, at which time all charges were held to court. On Sept. 1 Shaffer failed to appear at Criminal Call, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
In a separate case, Trooper Aaron Tiracorda of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield barracks, filed a criminal complaint, charging Shaffer with possession of a controlled substance, M, and use/possession of drug paraphernalia, M.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, on March 11 while on routine patrol, Tiracorda conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. Upon making contact with the driver, identified as Shaffer, and his passenger, several items of drug paraphernalia were observed in plain view. A further search of the vehicle allegedly revealed several prescription pills.

Shaffer is described as a Caucasian male standing 5 feet, 8 inches tall. He has “unknown” hair/bald and hazel eyes.
