Alvin L. Thomas, 73, of Falls Creek died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016 at Penn Highland Clearfield.
Born Sept. 25, 1942 in Clearfield, he was the son of the late G. Currier and Elma (Korb) Thomas.
On Aug. 31, 1963, he married Kaye M. (Bloom) Thomas. She survives.
He retired in 2002 as an over-the-road truck driver after 40 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Thomas was a past member of the former Anderson Creek Sportsmen’s Club, and he, along with his wife and Kids, raised Blue Tick Coon Hounds.
He is survived by three children, Timera Yovich and her husband, Rudy of Defiance, Ohio, Jodee Thomas of Leavenworth, Wash., and Amy Jo Thomas of Falls Creek; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Lauren Yovich; two sisters, Elaine T. Smith of Monroe, NC, and Eileen Anthony of Grampian; and a brother, Wayne Thomas and his wife, Beverly of DuBois.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Thomas.
Friends will be received from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc.
A service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Charles M. Lee Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
