Obituary Notice: James W. Reasinger

James W. Reasinger, 88, of DuBois died Friday, Sept. 9, 2016 at Christ the King Manor.

Born May 26, 1928, he was the son of the late Joseph and Nora (Lane) Reasinger.

On Jan. 17, 1952, he married Mabel J. (Shubert) Reasinger.  She preceded him in death on Dec. 7, 2014.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who had served during World War II.

He worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk and retired after 28 years of service.  Prior to that, he worked at Wheelock’s Buick Garage for 14 years.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church where he was a member of the 50-50 group.  He was also a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17.

He is survived by four sons, Dennis Reasinger and his wife, Doreen of Damascus, Md.; Brian Reasinger and his wife, Allison of Whitehall, Pa.; Kevin Reasinger and his wife, Karen of Treasure Lake, DuBois; and Charles Reasinger and his wife, Andrea of Blacksburg, SC.

He is also survived by seven granddaughters, seven great-granddaughters, three great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Mabel, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Roger Reasinger; two brothers, Charles and Joseph Reasinger; and three sisters, Marjorie Carlson, Dorothy Himes and Virginia Smith.  He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home with Pastor John Miller officiating. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
