Kathryn E. (Smeal) Caldwell, 73 of Curwensville went home to be with the Lord in the early morning on Sept. 3, 2016 at Ridgeview Elder Care Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville.
She was born Sept. 16, 1942 in Clearfield, the daughter of the late Ray and the late Mildred (Mason) Smeal.
She was a 1960 High Honor Graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola School District.
She was formerly employed by CNB Bank and Kent Sportswear. She was also a homemaker and daycare provider.
She married Gerald E. “Jerry” Caldwell on Sept. 30, 1961 at the Ohio E.U.B. Church of Morgan Run by the Rev. Ernest McClain.
She was a faithful member and a primary Sunday school teacher at the former Calvary Baptist Tabernacle of Curwensville. She had most recently attended the Clearfield Alliance Church.
She loved spending time with her family, going to church, reading and preparing holiday meals. She was a kind-hearted lady and was loved by everyone who knew her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Glenn and his wife, Rose of Lewistown. She is also survived by a brother, Al and his wife, Rose of Sanborn, a sister, Linda K. McCombs of Clearfield as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gordon; brothers, Leroy Smeal and his wife, Nancy and Kenny and his wife, Dottie; and a brother-in-law, Brooks McCombs. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Leroy and Minnie Mason, who raised her since infancy.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 17 at the Clearfield Alliance Church with the Rev. Robert Goldenberg officiating. Burial will be in the Baughman Cemetery in Sanborn. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Sept. 17 at the church.
