Elizabeth (Betty) Finney Kephart, 91, of Coal Run, Osceola Mills, died peacefully at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College, on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016.

Born March 6, 1925 at Dunlo, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Philip and Mary (Ruell) Finney.  She married Milford H. Kephart on Nov. 17, 1945 in Osceola Mills; he preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 2013.

She grew up in Atlantic, RD Houtzdale.  She was a graduate of the former Madera High School.  She was a member of the New Castle Church for 71 years, where she served as church treasurer and various positions through the years.

She was a homemaker all of her married life and enjoyed gardening and canning; family get-togethers; trips to Florida and Canada and once to Israel; Mahaffey Alliance Camp; and worship at her church.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Chapman and her husband, Irvin of Portage; her son, Garry Kephart and his wife, Pamela of Osceola Mills; and her daughter, Debra Yarger and her husband, the Rev. Dr. Mark Yarger of New Castle.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Sheila Chapman and her husband, Tobin of Portage, Stacey Haas and her husband, Stephen of Port Matilda, the Rev. Matthew Kephart and his wife, Kristie of North Little Rock, Ark.; Dr. Eric Kephart and his wife, Lindsay of Hollidaysburg, Dr. Curtis Kephart and his wife, Brittany of Delray Beach, Fla., Chelsea Harrington and her husband, Kyle of Coraopolis and Micah Yarger and his wife, Amanda of Ambridge.

She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, Kailie Kephart, Leisha Kephart, Claire Haas, Janae Haas, Nathan Haas, Hannah Kephart, Noah Kephart, Hunter Kephart, Henry Kephart, Regan Yarger and due to be born Sept. 14, Sadie Elizabeth Harrington.  Also surviving are two sisters, Pearl Martin and her husband, Donald of (Parsonville) Houtzdale and Alfretta Larson and her husband, Lars of Altoona.

In addition to her parents and husband, she preceded in death by one infant grand-daughter, Sharon Chapman and one sister, Juliet Francisco.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 9, at New Castle Community Church, Osceola Mills, with the Rev. Dr. Mark Yarger, the Rev. Matthew Kephart and Pastor Joseph Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Umbria Cemetery, Osceola Mills.

Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Osceola Mills, and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9 at the church.
