Julia R. Heck, 92, of Clearfield died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield. She was born in 1924, a daughter of the late Robert E. and Myrtle H. Ray.
Mrs. Heck was a graduate of Clearfield High School in the class of 1942. She had been employed by Bell Telephone Company, servicing Clearfield, Bellefonte and Niagara Falls, NY.
She was a former member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield, where she was involved with the Women’s Circle.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Barrow and her husband, Thomas of Harrisburg and Kathy Heck of Clearfield; a granddaughter, Stacy Brooks and her husband, Darold of Memphis, Tenn.; two great-grandchildren, Grace and Jacob Brooks; a sister, Dorothy Shaw; a sister-in-law, Margaret Edgren of Clearfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Lewis Heck, on Feb. 25, 2005 and to whom she was wed April 3, 1947 in Clearfield.
She was also preceded in death by brother, Robert E. Ray Jr., and four sisters, Emma Shaw, Betty Tagliente, Ethel Zickefoose and Barbara McCorkle.
A brief service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
