Born Oct. 9, 1922 in Smithfield, Pa., he was the son of the late Claude E. and Myrtle Hazel (Kendall) Wilcox.
He married Barbara Jean (Hoag) Wilcox on Jan. 10, 1948 in Unadilla, NY. She survives at home.
Mr. Wilcox was of the United Methodist faith. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired salesman from Kohlhepp True Value in DuBois.
He was a graduate of the Towanda High School, Towanda, Pa., in the class of 1942. Also, he graduated from the Wyoming Seminary in Kingston, Pa., with a Bachelor’s degree in business.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Susan Wolfgang and Sharon Johnston; one sister, Alice Roof; three brothers, Lauren, Claude and Harold Wilcox; and one granddaughter, Amanda Sue Wilcox.
He is survived by one daughter, Sally Matia and her husband, Thomas of Osceola Mills; two sons, Dana Wilcox and his companion, Gay Snyder of Penfield and Dale Wilcox of Home Camp, Pa.; one sister, Mary Foster of Willow Grove, Pa.; and one brother, Donald Wilcox and his wife, Connie of Pharr, Texas.
He is also survived by five granddaughters, Michelle Naylor, Jennifer Radaker, Heather Long, Barbara Wilcox and Jessica Wilcox; two grandsons, Lee Barefield and Zachery Simler; and nine great-grandchildren, Cody and Corey Long, Jordan and Rhett Eisman, Alex and Layne Barefield, Nathan Naylor and Kamdon and Macin Assalone; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
At Mr. Wilcox’s request, there will be no viewing or funeral service. Burial will be at the Bradford County Memorial Park in Towanda, Pa.
Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills is charge of the arrangements.
