DUBOIS – The Sandy Township Police Department is pleased to announce that it has partnered with the Clearfield Jefferson Drug and Alcohol Commission and Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. in the Clearfield County Pharmaceutical Drop Box Initiative.
Outside the door of the police station, located at 1094 Chestnut Ave., is a box so that people can drop off unused prescription medications for disposal.
According to police, medications being accepted include: prescription pills, patches and ointments (no liquids please), over-the-counter medications, vitamins, samples and medications for pets.
“Do not deposit needles of any kind, liquids, over-the-counter ointments or creams, inhalers, hydrogen peroxide, aerosol cans, medications from businesses or clinics or thermometers,” police said.
Directions for disposal are on the box, but if people have any questions, they are free to stop by and ask or to call the Sandy Township Police Department, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., at 814-371-4220.
