CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County Sheriff Wes Thurston has announced that the sheriff’s posse is at capacity for membership and has completed a comprehensive mock exercise during the summer.
The posse is now available for call-out, he said. According to Thurston, the posse was neither called upon for assistance with recent missing persons incidents nor to assist during the recent flooding.
“In order to ensure the posse is utilized to the greatest extent possible, parents or guardians of missing children or endangered persons may contact Sheriff Thurston or Chief Deputy Mike Churner directly when they wish to have the posse called out to search for their loved one,” he said.
Thurston and Churner can be reached at 814-553-1750 or 814-553-1368.
