Donald Francis Rinehart, 92, of Morrisdale went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 29, 2016 at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Born June 23, 1924 to the late Willard and Edna Rinehart, he then married Mafred G. Welker of Morrisdale on Dec. 27, 1948.

He is survived by his wife, Mafred, and his three children, Larry Rinehart of Morrisdale and his wife, Linda; Cheryl Carrier of Philipsburg and her husband, Eugene; and Karen Krebs of Morrisdale and her husband, Mark.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Cathy Carrier, Melanie Jarrett and her husband, Scott, Denise Miller and her husband, Robert, Matthew Carrier and his wife, Angela, Crystal Henry and her husband, Paul, Donald (DJ) Rinehart, Jesse Rinehart and his wife, Ashley and Mason Krebs and his wife, Rochelle.

He is survived by 15 great-grandchildren, Hunter Kephart, Matthew Carrier, Kylee Carrier, Victoria Jarrett, Paige Jarrett, Adison Jarrett, Jayde Mostyn and husband Ryan, Jordyn Miller, Paul Henry Jr., Calvin Henry, Adele Henry, Elizabeth Henry, Mark Krebs, Maverick Krebs and Axel Rinehart.  He is survived by great-great grandsons, Easton and Casen.

Also surviving are his siblings, Wilma Emigh and Darlene McGarvey, both of Clearfield; Verda Haggerty of Bonita Springs, Fla.; Bernice Campbell of Indiana, Pa.; Cecil Rinehart of Hawk Run; and Gary Rinehart of Morrisdale.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Geraldine Shinel and Pauline Warren and brother, Emery Rinehart.

Mr. Rinehart was a member of Palestine United Methodist Church, Morrisdale.

Earlier in his life, he had worked at the Puget Sound Shipyards in Washington and had worked for eight years as a mechanic for Maguire Lumber Company in Avis.

He then was employed by Sky Haven Coal Company as an oiler from which he retired.  He also owned coal trucks and had been involved in the logging business.  He was a member of Concerned Citizens of Graham Township.

Friends and family will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Messiah Baptist Church, Lanse, with the Rev. Dr. Earl R. Shawley officiating.  There will be a viewing from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral service.
